Data Sources

Web service APIs are available for two major data sources, eBird and Avian Knowledge Network (AKN).

eBird

By using these API you agree to: acknowledge eBird as the data source and provide a link back to eBird for data entry.

• eBird version 1.0

Avian Knowledge Network

• AKN version 1.0

Versions

Each API is versioned. Each version will have one of the following statuses:

• development - proposed functionality; not completely implemented or implemented only experimentally
• production - stable version
• deprecated - stable version but will be retired at some point in the future
• retired - version is retired and no longer available
