Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Idikan (antigenic formula 1,13,23:i:1,5) is a serovar of the O:13(G) serogroup. This serovar is uncommonly associated with human disease.
Animal reservoir: Serovar Idikan was found in chicken, and turkey.
Geographical distribution: Serovar Idikan has been found in Europe, South Africa, and the U.S.
Outbreaks: No outbreaks have been associated with S. Idikan.
