Cornell University Library Instruction Charge
The Public Services Instruction Team provides leadership for library-wide instruction initiatives, and supports CUL in its commitment to effective instruction and comprehensive information and related literacies (data literacy, visual literacy, media literacies), by serving as a clearinghouse for information, facilitating a community of practice, and partnering with other groups on initiatives and projects of shared import.
End of Semester Events
In December, PSEC Instruction hosts an end-of-semester event featuring trainings, presentations, refreshments, and discussion. Every May, PSEC Instruction co-organizes an end of semester event with the Reference and Outreach (R&O) and Liaison Program Steering committees. PSEC Instruction uses these outlets to highlight a variety of instruction methods being taught, in addition to conducting workshops and training on how to improve instruction. Topics might include: assessment, teaching with technology, threshold concepts, and curriculum development. Instructors working on new projects are invited to share their work with the larger group.
