Hillcrest Laboratories Inc.

Dan Simpkins is an entrepreneur who has spent his career building
successful technology companies. He is currently CEO of Hillcrest Labs,
a company he founded in 2001 to create groundbreaking user experiences
in consumer electronics and which is now the leading global
supplier of software, hardware, and intellectual property for motionenabled
products. Before Hillcrest, Simpkins founded SALIX Technologies,
and over the course of a decade led the company from inception
to acquisition by Tellabs, Inc. for $300 million. Simpkins operates as
both business and technical leader: he has been issued 13 U.S. patents
in the fields of interactive television and telecommunications; and
teaches, writes, and speaks on a variety of business subjects. He has
been recognized as one of the top 25 CEOs in the Washington, D.C. area;
is an active adviser to and investor in several early stage companies;
and sits on the board of private company PublicRelay.
