  1. From the main window select Search Z39.50 to open the Z39.50 search window. Do a search of the CUL catalog to see if the item has already been cataloged, and place a call number in the Item Call # field.
      
    1. If a record is not been created in Voyager it is also possible to get a call number from World-Cat.
    2. Another option for call numbers is a standardized one developed by your library, for instance AEM1220.1, for the AEM 1220 course packet.

    Note: It's a good idea to search the CUL catalog to see if an item is owned by CUL, and if so use that call number for cataloging personal copies.

   Note: It's a good idea to assign a call number at this time. It will save time in the future as well as the macro for creating records looks at the Item Call # field in Ares for a call number to use in Voyager.
