Your home folder on the conversion computers is your AFS home folder -- allowing access to your data from any CNF computer with the AFS software installed.

 

 Logging in from Windows

  1. Start Hummingbird Exceed
  2. Start Putty (if putty is not already installed, it is a free download from:  http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe ) 
  3. In the "Host Name" box, type in either korat or minx
  4. On the left side of the Putty window, expand (if not already expanded) Connection
  5. Expand SSH
  6. Highlight Tunnels
  7. On the top right of the Putty screen, check the box labeled Enable X11 Forwarding
  8. If you wish to save these settings for future use, on the left side of the screen, highlight Session, then give your session a name in the "Saved Sessions" box, and click the "Save" button
  9. To connect, click the Open button
  10. Login with the short version of your Cornell NetID or Cornell GuestID and password
