Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Uzaramo (antigenic formula 1,6,14,25:z4,z24:–) is a serovar of the O:6,14 (H) serogroup. Xu et al. found the presence of the cdtB, pltA, and pltB genes in S. Uzaramo suggesting a higher killing rate than nontyphoidal Salmonella.
Animal reservoir: Serovar Uzaramo was found in chicken.
Geographical distribution: Serovar Uzaramo has been found in South Africa, China.
Outbreaks: No outbreaks have been associated with S. Uzaramo.
