- We shared our thoughts on the misunderstanding regarding the agenda for the 2CUL Steering Committee on July 28th, which led to that meeting's last-minute cancellation. We reaffirmed our mutual interest in getting some kind of governance structure in place that will allow 2CUL to move forward smoothly, even after Jim Neal's departure.
- Regarding next-gen system implementation, we discussed further how to complete the in-house work on the draft contract with Ex Libris, so we can get back to negotiations with the vendor. In addition, we affirmed our interest in getting what we are now proposing as the 2CUL System Implementation Steering Group in place ASAP. This will allow us time to perform some kind of organized evaluation of the current features and development status of Alma, as well as Kuali OLE and other potentially viable library management systems, before we sign a contract with Ex Libris. Jim will redraft the charge for this group for Admin Team review; Bob and Xin will then run it by 2CUL Steering.
