A design for a Foldable solar cooker was developed by Prof. Lynne Schlager. The design was modified and built by the team in Sabana Grande in the spring and documented here later in the spring. This semester, the foldable oven team is finishing a cooker to this design and will be modifying the documentation accordingly.

The solar powered devices for cooking, food drying, water distillation and solar panel construction usually use window glass to prevent the loss of hot air. Glass is expensive, heavy and brittle. The members of Las Mujeres are interested in finding replacements for the glass. This group is researching the possibility of using Mylar instead of glass on these devices.
