RDA (Resource Description and Access) is the new cataloging code that is intended to replace AACR2. The three national libraries are expected to announce a decision in June 2011 regarding implementation of RDA. Many or most academic libraries will likely implement RDA, if that is what the national libraries decide to do. Several libraries have already implemented RDA and are actively contributing RDA records in our shared database, so there is a good chance of anyone at CUL encountering an RDA record!.

While we wait for the official decision to be announced, the RDA Training Committee is busy planning a series of training sessions for CUL catalogers that will take place in the spring and summer. We hope this wiki will help catalogers become familiar with RDA, in a way that complements the training sessions.
