Note that when Apple releases a new version of OS X, it may take some time for CNF to qualify the various applications on the new operating system version.
Mavericks - OS X 10.9 (as of February 13, 2014)
- Workday - tested to work in Safari
- eShop - tested to work in Firefox ESR (tested to not work in Safari)
- Kronos - tested to work with Oracle Java and Safari (requires Java 7)
- Coral - tested to work with Oracle Java and Safari (see additional Mac information)
- OpenAFS - tested to work (see additional Mac information)
- Other Cornell applications - see the IT@Cornell Mavericks compatibility page
Yosemite - OS X 10.10 (as of May 1, 2015)
- OpenAFS - Installers available from Your File System, Inc
- There would appear to be additional issues with AFSTokens and the Finder. Commandline access to AFS seems to work fine.
- Other Cornell applications - see the IT@Cornell Yosemite compatibility page
- Kronos - requires Java 7 (Java 8 is known not to work)
- Coral - tested to work with Java 7 or 8 and Safari
El Capitan - OS X 10.11 (as of Oct 9, 2015)
Notes from previous versions (un-confirmed if still exists on 10.14+):
- Office2016 cannot save directly into AFS space. Save someplace else and then copy over the file.
- Some AFS files may not be openable if Finder Preview mode is turned on. Turn off FInder preview and use xattrs to delete com.apple.quarantine from the file.
macOS Catalina (10.15) - recommended version of OS X
- CNF Computing does not recommend Big Sur (11) at this time.
- Coral - tested to work with Oracle Java 8 and Safari
- OpenAFS is not yet supported
- CNF has not tested any other software with El Capitan. We do not yet recommend upgrading
