Craig asked if there were short or long range plan for hardware updates/upgrades for their office. Oliver's recommendations:

  • Review two inventory pages listing some info for all Physics computers.
  • Consider creating a computer replacement budget plan. Can result in fewer budgeting surprises and streamlined decision-making.

To do, as of 3/23/16

  • Craig to invite Roger, via <PhysIT>, to present Physics IT's 20-25 minute presentation/ discussion with (all?) Physics staff on malware and what can be done to avoid problems.
    • Oliver suggests scheduling staff meeting for 45 minutes to ensure staff's questions are addressed.
  • To consider adding: Roger has also created a 20-25 minute Windows 10 overview we'd very much appreciate showing Physics staff in preparation for future computer upgrades.
    • This will go a long way to ensure effective use of Windows by staff.
