There are approximately 400 student employees in the Library whom we rely upon for office support, technological services, preservation and conservation work, circulation, for opening and closing the libraries, and for information assistance.

The Fuerst Award allows us to annually recognize our top student employees with the largest monetary award on campus. Bill Fuerst's endowment generously allows the Library to recognize student workers at a reception and award each student recipient with $500.

The deadline for the twenty-first annual William F. Fuerst Jr., Outstanding Library Student Award has passed. A reception will be held on April 20th to  recognize the outstanding students nominated in 2015.

Congratulations to the outstanding students nominated in 2104:

Mr. William F. Fuerst, Jr. '39, endowed a fund to recognize the achievements of library undergraduate student employees. This recognition program provides a tangible and meaningful way to clearly show our appreciation for the contributions of our library student employees.

Fuerst Award winners will be selected on the basis of their exceptional performance, initiative, and service to the library. Nominations are generally made by the student's supervisor, but may be made by anyone in the Library community. A committee with representatives from throughout the Library system will select the winners of this prestigious award. Each of the selected students will receive a $1,000 monetary award.

The Fuerst Award allows us to annually recognize our top student employees with the largest monetary award on campus.
