This section covers processing incoming requests.
      Ares uses queues to display and organize requests in a logical manner. It is best to process the queues in order. Items are passed from one queue to another as work continues. Ares also, by design, allows for batch processing which lets you complete common tasks at the same time. For example all newly incoming requests can be searched and sorted by what action needs to be taken.
      Incoming requests generally go into one of four queues when they are submitted by an instructor or a proxy. Three of the queues require little or no attention; they are Item Available at Reserves Desk, Item Available on Electronic Reserves and Item Awaiting Activation. Items are placed directly in these queues when an instructor either uploads a file, or provides a link to an electronic resource. All other incoming requests are placed in Awaiting Reserves Processing. (There are a few exceptions to this rule which will be covered later in chapter 16 Odd Status Queues)
