Founder: First Manhattan Consulting Group

Jim McCormick is a founder and president of founded First Manhattan Consulting Group and FMCG
Direct in 1980. The Economist has described FMCG as "the world's most successful consulting firm."

During Jim's 25+ years of consulting he has built expertise in disciplines ranging from strategy to acquisitions to marketing to MIS. He has consulted for many of the largest banks, other financial service firms, telecommunications, media, and technology companies.

Often a keynote speaker at major conferences, Jim is an acknowledged thought leader in retail banking and has authored over 25 white papers.

Jim firm specializes in serving financial institutions and
has completed over 3,000 assignments. Jim has focused on strategy,
marketing and financial analysis, and along the way, has authored over
50 white papers on banking, and built relationships with multiple C-level
executives and board members. He has given testimony to the U.S. Senate
Banking Committee and has appeared over 200 times as a speaker before
various industry groups. He has appeared on CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, and other television venues. He has been widely quoted in national publications including Jim has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal,
The New York Times, Institutional Investor, The Economist, Forbes , and
Fortune.

Jim's philanthropic activities, relate primarily to education, include serving on the board of directors of Teach for America and serving as a board member and member of the executive committee for Mercy College.

His hobbies include auto racing, in which he won the Porsche Klub Sport Racing Series in 2003 and 2006.

McCormick’s philanthropy is focused on education, including
teaching excellence at Cornell, and support for several institutions that
seek to transform the lives of underprivileged children. This has included
participation as a board member of Mercy College and Teach for America,
as well as other entities such as EL Education, New Classrooms, 50 Can,
and others. Hobbies include racing sports cars and photographing birds in
flight.
