Howto Login
The below will not work until your netid/guestid is authorized by CNF Computing.
You will remotely login to the CNF Thin service via the Cornell VPN using a special CNF Thin group VPN pool.
- Download the ThinLinc client for your operating system.
- Down Download the Cisco AnyConnect client for your operating system.
- Connect to the CNF Thin group VPN pool as netid_or_guestid@RS-CNF-VPN-Thin (case sensitive) along with your netid or guestid password.
- In the installed ThinLinc client, set your preferred screen size:
- Click "Options"
- Click the "Screen" tab
- Choose your preferred screen size
- Make sure "Resize remote session to the local window" is checked
- With the installed ThinLinc client, connect to
Server: desktop-k.cnf.cornell.edu
Username: netid_or_guestid
Password: your netid or guestid password - To disconnect your session, press 'F8' and choose "Disconnect" - just as you would from a CNF Thinstation in the facility (sessions will also auto terminate in the facility.same time frame as if accessing CNF Thin at the facility)
- Disconnect the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client connection.
