Scope:  This procedure lists the notes which may be made in the catalog record for a pre-1600 manuscript cataloged using AMREMM. All of these notes are in 500 fields unless otherwise noted. For more information, see AMREMM (Gregory A. Pass, Descriptive Cataloging of Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Modern Manuscripts. Chicago : Association of College and Research Libraries, 2002). For Cornell RMC purposes, we include notes on the script and the provenance of the item, even though they are not mandatory for summary-level records.
