Alec D. Gallimore

University of Michigan  

Alec D. Gallimore is the Robert J. Vlasic Dean of Engineering, the Richard F.
and Eleanor A. Towner Professor of Engineering and an Arthur F. Thurnau
Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of
Michigan. From 2011 to 2016, Gallimore served first as the associate dean for
research and graduate education and then as the associate dean for academic
affairs at Michigan Engineering. Alec served as an associate dean at U-M’s
Graduate School from 2005 to 2011. He is a leader in the field of advanced
spacecraft propulsion and heads a laboratory that is developing the plasma
drive system that may ultimately propel humans to Mars. He received his
B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering at Rensselaer, and his M.A. and Ph.D.
degrees in aerospace engineering with a focus on plasma physics at Princeton.
He is the author of over 360 publications and has graduated 40 Ph.D. students
and 14 master’s students.

Ken Goldman 
(Cornell B.S. ’71 EE)

Hillspire  

Ken Goldman is the former chief financial officer of Yahoo! and now president
of Hillspire, a family office. He was previously CFO of Fortinet. He also
served as senior vice president, finance and administration, and chief financial
officer of Siebel Systems, Inc., Excite@Home Corporation and Sybase, Inc.
He currently serves on the board of directors of NXP Semiconductor, Yahoo!
Japan, Trinet, GoPro, Inc. and several private companies. Goldman was a
member of board of trustees of Cornell University from 2005 to 2013 and was
designated as emeritus trustee. He was formerly a member of the Treasury
Advisory Committee on the Auditing Profession and was appointed a member
of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s Standing Advisory
Group (“SAG”). Goldman holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Cornell
University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
