Nadine Aubry is University Distinguished Professor and Dean of the
College of Engineering at Northeastern University, and is an expert in
fluid mechanics. She was elected to the National Academy of Engineering
(NAE), the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National
Academy of Inventors, and is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Association for
the Advancement of Science and the American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics. She currently serves as president of the International Union
of
Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Section Secretary vice chair of the NAE mechanical
engineering section, vice chair of the NAE Bernard M. Gordon Prize for
Innovation in Engineering and Technology Education Selection Committee,
on the NAE Council (Governing Board) and Membership Policy Committee,
and on the International Council
for Science. In the past, she chaired the APS
Division of Fluid Dynamics, the
U.S. National Committee for Theoretical
and Applied Mechanics and the
NAE’s Frontiers of Engineering Education
Committee. She was the recipient
of the 2017 G.I. Taylor Medal of the Society
of Engineering Science. Prior
to joining Northeastern, Aubry was head of
Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
