All softcover monographs will be sorted by the preservation Commercial Binding Office/Physical Processing staff prior to stiffening to determine if stiffening is necessary. The decision whether or not to stiffen will be determined by the quality of the cover, paper and glue. If a volume will hold up to circulation, it will not be stiffened and returned to physical processing.

Apply Unless catalogued for ANNEX, apply a security strip on the edge opposite the side inserted into the machine; avoid covering any printed information.
