This Excel worksheet models total costs for active (dynamic) and inactive (static) storage options at Cornell. It compares the Cornell Shared File Service (SFS) with AWS Storage options. Remember to consider access times when comparing SFS versus AWS storage; access to SFS from on-campus locations will almost always be faster than accessing AWS from on campus. SFS also presents storage as CIFS shares for direct mounting.
