Nadine Aubry, University Distinguished Professor and Dean of the

Northeastern
University College of Engineering, is known for her

contributions
to the field of fluid dynamics. Aubry was elected to the

National Academy
of Engineering (NAE) and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI),

and
is a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), the American Society of

Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Association for the Advancement of of

Science (AAAS), and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
(AIAA). She has served as

has held or is holding a number of national and international leadership

positions, including Chair of the National Academies’ U.S. National

National Committee for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNC/TAM),
Chair of the American

Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics, and currently
serves as the Vice Chair ( and incoming Chair ) of the NAE’s

Frontiers
of Engineering Education Advisory Committee. Recently, she was

elected as President of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied

Mechanics. Before joining Northeastern, she was
the Raymond J. Lane

Distinguished Professor, University Professor and head
of the Department of

Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
Aubry holds a Ph.D.

in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell
University.
