Indiana is a common serotype in raw chicken form the Hebei Hebnan province in China; Indiana isolates from chickens in China have been reported to typically be resistant to ciprofloxacin, with frequent co-resistance to cefotaxime.
Animal reservoir: The most common reservoir for serovar Derby is retail chickens.
Geographical distribution: S. Derby is found in China.
Outbreaks: Outbreaks linked to S. Derby have been reported; in most of these outbreaks, the associated food was raw pork.
