Biology

Janice is originally from a small town in western Massachusetts. She attended Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts and received an A.S. degree in Laboratory Animal Technology. After working as a laboratory technician for the dairy industry, she took time off to be at home with her three children. She then moved to western New York and returned to college part-time majoring in Math and Science at Corning Community College. From there she transferred to SUNY Geneseo. While at Geneseo she was employed as a TA teaching freshman Biology Labs. She received both her BS and MA in Biology from Geneseo along with teaching certification in chemistry, biology and general science. She has had numerous jobs, starting as a middle school teacher teaching physical and life sciences, a second job as a seasonal health inspector for NSDOH, a third job as an evening adjunct for CCC, along with her current full time position teaching high school science. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking, the ocean, and deep sea fishing.
