Michael L. Goguen is a managing partner has been a Managing Partner at Sequoia Capital . Sequoia
Capital was an original investor in Google, Yahoo, YouTube, PayPal,
Flextronics, Network Appliance, NVIDIA, Netscreen, Cisco, Oracle, and
Apple Computer. He is the global head of Sequoia's cleantech investment
efforts, which are particularly focused on finding capital efficient
cleantech business with strong IP. Goguen is also active in semiconductor,
systems, and Internet business and has served on the boards of
more than 40 Sequoia companies. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in
1996, he for over 16 years, where he focuses on infrastructure and technology investments. He is a Director of Cellworks, Click Security, Clickatell, Infoblox (BLOX), OpenDNS, Quantenna, R2 Semiconductor, ThinkCash, Tula Technologies, Versa, vIPtela, and Virident. Michael led Sequoia's investments in Ardent (CSCO), Avanex (AVNX), LitePoint (TER), LogLogic (TIBX), MaxComm (CSCO), Monterey Networks (CSCO), Navini (CSCO), Netiverse (CSCO), NetScreen (JNPR), Pipelinks (CSCO), Redback Networks (RBAK), Spatial Wireless (ALU), Springbank (CacheFlow), Versatile (VTSS), VitalSigns (ALU), and Yago Systems (Cabletron). Before joining Sequoia Capital in 1996, Michael spent 10 years in various engineering, research , and product
management roles at DEC, SynOptics , and Centillion and was a director
of engineering Engineering at Bay Networks (NTNortel). Goguen Michael also served as a technical
chairman Technical Chairman of the ATM Forum. Michael holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
