- We've already been working on some CJKT administrative issues in ad hoc groups: the new Chinese approval plans, the review of expectations for our 2CUL Korean cataloging agreement, and potential 2CUL aspects of the job Cornell is posting for a CJK copy cataloger. We agreed that this work, and similar issues in the future, would be fall under the umbrella of the TSI Administrative Team.
- We also agreed that it would be useful for Jim Cheng, Liren, and others to provide the team with information regarding programmatic changes in East Asian studies at Columbia and Cornell -- for instance, the hiring of new faculty.
- Other issues of interest to the group:
- Columbia
- is applying for a CLIR grant to
- catalog its "hidden/backlog" Japanese Makino Collection
- We intend to explore the possibility of batch processing support for the import, export, and maintenance of CJKT records
- Joint review of the outsourcing landscape for CJKT cataloging.
- Jim and Kate will discuss the idea of a CJKT representative on the TSI Batch Processing Working Group with TSI Steering and the working group's leads.
