CHARGE

The Visual Resources Working Group provides a forum for discussing issues related to visual resources on campus, including collection building and development, research and instructional support, policy creation, and public outreach.  Members meet monthly and represent key stakeholders on campus.

Included in the charge are the following responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of metadata conventions/development in visual resource arena
  • Develop policies regarding passwords, public support, collection development, and reference referrals
  • Develop project workflows 
  • Look towards the future of Visual Resources, including multimedia-related issues and delivery systems
  • Advise and partner strategically with other stakeholders in CUL and the University who are developing or supporting similar resources
  • Prioritize objectives, document yearly accomplishments, reassess as needed
  • Concentration in understanding user perspectives, discovery of images and usability issues. How are visual resources are being used by students and faculty?
  • Coordinate or co-sponsor public forums on issues relating to digital image collection development and/or use
  • Maintain the Visual Resources page on the library website, found at  https://www.library.cornell.edu/visual-resources
